While the royal family prepares for their annual summer gathering at Balmoral Castle in Scotland in the upcoming weeks, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be packing their bags. That’s because, well…they didn’t get an invite.

According to sources at People, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex along with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, weren’t invited to join the rest of the royals in the Scottish Highlands this summer. Since Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022, King Charles has continued his late mother’s tradition of heading to Balmoral estate in the late summer for days filled with hunting, fishing, and horseback riding—however, he has yet to include his youngest son and his family on the yearly retreat.

Back in June, royal correspondent Rebecca English revealed that when Charles was asked whether he would be inviting Harry and Meghan to Balmoral, he bluntly replied: “No way.” Meanwhile, English “asked a well-placed source” if Harry could bring his children to see the King at Balmoral this summer and the answer was “a resounding snort.”

This latest snub comes after it was reported that things between Harry and Charles have deteriorated to a new level.”

“Prince Harry’s relationship with his father has deteriorated to a new low level,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. The insider added that the father and son are “at loggerheads over Harry’s security requests and are no longer communicating.” But it’s just not security concerns that has them at odds.”Their rift is not only just tied to security, but also the family’s distrust of Harry and Meghan, including Harry’s tell-all bestselling memoir,” the source continued.
