A collective of hopeless romantics (us) fell head over heels in love with Lucas Bravo when the first season of Emily in Paris was released on Netflix in 2020. And with each season since then, the sweet French actor has continued to charm us.

The 36-year-old plays the role of Gabriel in the show, a talented chef who lives and works within a 50 metre radius of the apartment our lead protagonist Emily resides in. When their paths cross and a companionship is formed, the set-up proves to be rather convenient for both of them (and us—regular eyefuls of Bravo on our screen is, well, bravo).

Of course, there’s no doubt Gabriel’s love life on-screen is more than a little complicated, but we have wondered once or twice what his love life was like in real life—you know, for research purposes only…

Does Lucas Bravo have a wife or girlfriend?

At the time of writing, it appears Lucas Bravo is single.

He has kept his private life very private since 2020, with no indications of a secret marriage or girlfriend in the media.

His Instagram account is also free of any posts that might hint at a relationship (but does have some great photos, including of recent Emily in Paris events).

But in a 2024 interview with California-based C Magazine, he revealed that he had recently ended a three year relationship with an unnamed actor, citing different schedules and pressures of the job as two contributing factors.

“It’s so much pressure to be the best version of yourself. Every gesture is over-interpreted. To stay sane in the industry you need to turn it off, which isn’t easy when you’re with someone else in the industry.”

What has Lucas Bravo said about his dating life?

Previously, Lucas Bravo confirmed to Glamour in 2020 that he wasn’t dating anyone, describing his ideal relationship to be, “cuddly, tender… just a sweet wake-up”.

Ever so humbly, he also added to the publication that dating fans wasn’t exactly off the cards: “I don’t really have fans, so I don’t know,” he said.

We can vouch for ourselves and at least a million others that this particular statement is categorically false, but bless him for being so oblivious.

To add, the actor spoke to us in an interview for ELLE Australia in 2020 where he elaborated on what he looks for in a partner.

“I don’t have a type or anything,” he explained.

“I like that ‘instant connection’. Sometimes, you just run into someone, you look at this person in the eyes, and in an instant, in a second, so much is said… Just feeling safe and feeling like there’s an old soul in front of me, and we’ve always known each other [like] in a past life or something… it’s something you cannot see, and that’s mostly what I’m looking for.”

In another no-holds barred interview, Bravo also delved into his thoughts on threesomes, which came in light of his character’s love triangle with both Emily (played by Lily Collins and his Parisian girlfriend, Camille (played by Camille Razat).

He told The Michelle Collins Show of his previous dalliances: “I’ve never experienced one, but I guess it’s a reality and it’s not even in France.”

“I think it’s everywhere. It depends on connections and the situation, you know, anything can happen sometimes. You know, your life can do a 180 in just one second, one hour and anything’s possible.”

While Bravo understandably keeps his romantic life quiet, he has previously said that he’d likely never date a co-star.

“Once you step on set, it’s a workplace, and I want to keep it professional,” he told Glamour.

Bravo elaborated on the matter in his interview with ELLE Australia when he was asked who he would pick between his two on-screen love interests, Camille and Emily.

A little tongue tied, Bravo responded: “It’s hard because if we’re talking about myself that means we’re talking about Lily and Camille as actresses. I can hardly separate the fact that Camille is like a sister to me and Lily is co-worker, and she just got engaged. I would just end up by myself!” He laughed.
