Details about New Vegas have raised all sorts of different theories pertaining to the impact it may have on Fallout season 2. One possibility is that it’ll lead to a much bigger role for Mr. House. There’s also the matter of all the different monsters that populated the area in the game. Any of them could be on hand when the show returns. And if a tease from the games is any indication, a creature that once had no presence in New Vegas may have developed a prominent place in the region.
Why Tunnelers Could Be In Fallout Season 2
Tunnelers Could Be In New Vegas When Lucy & The Ghoul Travel There
Introduced in the “Lonesome Road” DLC for Fallout: New Vegas, the Tunneler is among the many monster types that roam Fallout’s apocalypse. Humanoid in body structure, the Tunnelers are vicious, subterranean creatures mutated by radiation. In the game, they were unleashed when cracks in the ground caused by nuclear bombs created a pathway for the Tunnelers to emerge from underground. They never became a direct threat to New Vegas, but comments from one of the game’s characters – Ulysses – strongly indicated that the region would have to contend with them sooner or later.
In the timeframe of “Lonesome Road,” a Tunneler presence in the New Vegas area was said to only be “years” away. That could carry major implications for Fallout season 2, considering where it fits into the timeline. It takes place only 15 years after the events of the game, which could align it nicely with the setup for the Tunnelers to attack New Vegas. For that reason, it wouldn’t come as a massive surprise if Tunnelers are among the monsters in Fallout’s world that season 2 ultimately draws upon.
Why The Tunnelers Could Pose A Massive Threat To New Vegas
Tunnelers Could Be A Big Problem In Fallout Season 2
Similar to the Yao Guai in season 1, the Tunnelers could theoretically be just a one-and-done threat if they do appear in Fallout season 2. That too would make sense, considering that several other noteworthy monsters are deserving of attention as well. That said, Ulysses’ warning about the Tunnelers was particularly dire, so much that they could actually be a significant problem. The concern was that the Tunnelers could invade the Mojave Wasteland (where New Vegas is located), thus implying that the area could be covered up with them by this point. Going in this direction could make the Tunnelers a recurring enemy in Fallout season 2.
