It is still a popular choice though.
House of the Dragon is back again as its second season’s premiere episode was dropped several days ago and was quick to have fans divided over how well the series was aware of everything happening in George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood.
Still, the second installment is now bringing more of previously insignificant characters to the main stage, proving that it’s not up to Rhaenyra and Alicent, but rather their heirs to decide how to seize the ultimate power.
The show thus continues taking a closer look at House of Targaryen’s young members who, despite their age, appear to be more than ready to get involved in the whole mess, though one of the actors doesn’t really feel like being a fan of Westeros’ famous dragon riders.
In House of the Dragon season 2, a much bigger role is now given to Jacaerys ‘Jace’ Targaryen, Rhaenyra’s son and deceased little Lucerys’ older brother, portrayed by Harry Collett on the show. Following the second installment’s grand premiere over the last weekend, the actor teased major changes coming in his character’s way as Jace is now fully prepared to make the Greens pay for his little brother’s death.
Collett admitted that he “was so pleased to see this new era of Jace that I could experiment with” as he later on stated that his version of Jacaerys is based on both the book and the way the show would want to see his character.
The actor also reflected on that highly anticipated yet revoltingly short scene from the second season’s episode 1 where Jacaerys is seen arriving at Winterfell to talk Cregan Stark into supporting the Blacks in the upcoming war.
While many were nothing but excited about Game of Thrones ’ favorite house finally entering the battlefield, the 5-minute scene eventually left fans outraged, with some claiming that House of the Dragon had absolutely no need to give all that hype for the Starks’ blatantly short appearance.
Though there’s still no sign of any other major house popping up in House of the Dragon’s upcoming episodes, Harry Collett does have one specific dynasty in mind. The actor also admitted that he’d love to see his character interact with the Lannisters, though prior to season 2 “I would have always said the Starks, because they’re my all-time favorite house. But I reckon the Lannisters.”
Despite everyone claiming that House Stark’s appearance doesn’t really count, the beloved dynasty has still somehow checked-in on the show, leaving Jacaerys no other choice but to continue his acquaintance with Westeros’ other powerful families.
