Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon (Dafne Keen) looking at the camera and wielding a green lightsaber in Star Wars: The AcolyteDafne Keen, who plays Jecki Lon in The Acolyte, has trained extensively for her upcoming lightsaber duel with a mysterious Sith Lord, and a new video proves how well she can wield her weapon. Keen plays the part-Theelin Jecki Lon, a Jedi Padawan and student of Master Sol. She may be a Padawan, but through the first half of the Star Wars show, Jecki has already proven herself wise beyond her years. Now, it seems likely that Jecki – and Keen herself – will get a chance to prove she’s a strong fighter as well, as The Acolyte‘s Sith Lord attacked at the end of episode 4.

A video shared by TheAshRendar showed Keen training with a prop lightsaber and performing some spinning movements behind the scenes.

As the video proves, Keen has mastered some complicated lightsaber choreography for The Acolyte. Keeping a lightsaber spinning that quickly while also performing turns and steps is no easy feat, but Keen seems to be a natural at it. Her choreography also seems to fit with The Acolyte‘s setting in the Star Wars timeline. Like the prequel trilogy, the Jedi of The Acolyte fight with a certain speed, agility, and energy that is very clear to see in Keen’s movements. Keen seems prepared to use her lightsaber whenever she needs to. That’s a good thing, as Jecki will likely need to use it very soon.

The end of The Acolyte episode 4 introduced a Sith Lord and pitted them against a group of Jedi that included Jecki Lon. There’s no telling how that fight will play out exactly, but given the Sith Lord used a massive Force push at the very beginning, it seems the Jedi will have quite a fight on their hands. It also seems likely that Jecki will have to face off against the Sith Lord herself, as some of the trailers for The Acolyte have shown her fighting in the same dark forests of Khofar.

Luckily, Jecki, like Dafne Keen, has been training extensively with a lightsaber. The Acolyte episode 4 also showed that Jecki was training with a bokken stick in the Jedi temple on Coruscant, and that she was quite good at her planned strikes. It is also interesting to note that the footage of Jecki fighting the Sith Lord showed her using two green lightsabers, which could give her an additional edge in battle. It also indicates that she survived the Sith Lord’s initial assault despite other Jedi falling to their blade.

While Jecki’s chances of survival seem good, there’s also an unsettling possibility that she doesn’t survive her fight with the Sith Lord. The Acolyte has proven time and again that it isn’t afraid to kill off Jedi, as it did with Master Indara, Torbin, and Kelnacca. There’s also no telling how strong the Sith Lord is, and though Jecki is quite proficient with her lightsaber, she is still a Padawan. It’s enough to leave a bad feeling about Jecki’s fate, and make The Acolyte episode 5 even more nerve-wracking.
