Royal commentator says Meghan has ‘worst judgment’
The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has faced her share of criticism since stepping into the royal spotlight, with detractors often slamming her for a perceived disregard for royal traditions and a so-called “Hollywood approach” to her role. Over time, this behavior has reportedly led to lost allies and strained relationships, with some close to the royals questioning her decisions.
Meghan’s actions have frequently made headlines, from her exclusive approach to Archie’s birth announcement to the continuous stream of publicized disputes with the royal family. Critics argue that these moments reflect a pattern, one that even Tina Brown, a respected royal commentator and biographer, now seems to disapprove of.
According to sources, Brown’s recent critique left Meghan “inconsolable with tears.” Brown, known for her work on Princess Diana’s biography, was once admired by Meghan, but she didn’t hold back in her comments. Brown reportedly called Meghan’s choices “total rubbish” and suggested she has “the worst judgment in the world.”
Royal biographer Angela Levin shared that Meghan “really liked Tina Brown, and now she’s dropped her,” adding that the Duchess is devastated by Brown’s biting remarks. Brown went on to describe Meghan as “a perfectionist at getting it all wrong,” painting an unflattering picture of someone who, despite seeking advice, often ignores it in favor of her own ideas.
Tina Brown slams her media strategy as ‘rubbish’
Brown’s criticism didn’t stop with Meghan; she also hinted at Prince Harry’s role in the dynamic, saying that he’s become “a lamb to the slaughter.” Brown argued that Harry’s loyalty to Meghan has only fueled his own setbacks. “He thought she was the savvy Hollywood wheeler-dealer who could make them stars,” Brown commented, but added that Harry now seems trapped in a series of career missteps under Meghan’s influence. Brown also noted that Harry’s talent for being a prince was unmatched, making his shift away from royal duties particularly tragic.
In addition to these stinging remarks, Meghan is reportedly frustrated with her business pursuits. Her recent online promotion of American Riviera Orchard, a luxury brand for jams and home goods, hasn’t gone as planned, with the brand’s products still not hitting retailers.
For some royal watchers, this stalled project raises doubts about Meghan’s business acumen and her ability to succeed outside the royal sphere. As Hugo Vickers, another royal biographer, pointed out, Meghan “seems to have a capacity for losing friends and allies,” including Tina Brown, who once backed her. He remarked, “There was so much she could do, but she gradually managed to upset everybody.”
