Actor Michael Tourek is well known for his role as Ash on the Netflix original crime drama Ozark. He joined The Walking Dead universe in its final season. Next up for Tourek is the action-adventure holiday film Red One.

The movie, from Amazon MGM Studies, is seen as a potential franchise as it reimagines holiday lore. Red One is directed by Jake Kasdan, known for his Jumanji reboots with a script by Chris Morgan from the story by Hiram Garcia. Producers for the film include Hiram Garcia, Danny Garcia, Dwayne Johnson (who also stars), Morgan, Kasdan, and Melvin Mar.

Set to release in theaters on November 15, Red One features Johnson as Callum Drift, head of North Pole security. When Santa Claus, portrayed by J.K. Simmons, comes up missing, Drift enlists the help of bounty hunter Jack O’Malley (Chris Evans) to save Christmas. Bonnie Hunt portrays Mrs. Claus, and Kristofer Hivju plays the role of Krampus, who, according to lore, is a horned, anthropomorphic goat figure with one human foot and a very long tongue, one of Santa’s helpers. Additional cast includes Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Nick Kroll, Wesley Kimmel, Tourek, and more.

Michael Tourek – other roles

Tourek joined The Walking Dead in its eleventh season as Roman Calhoun, a member of the Commonwealth who worked as a spy for Deputy Governor Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton). Calhoun is a cunning, cruel, and dangerous man. He, under orders from Hornsby, kills ten members of the CW and allows them to reanimate inside the city walls. This event leads to the death of Governor Pamela Milton’s (Laila Robins) son, Sebastian (Teo Rapp-Olsson), and she orders Calhoun killed.

The most recent TV roles Tourek has appeared in include Blue Ridge: The Series, Blue Bloods, American Rust, and Doom Patrol.

In 2023, Tourek appeared in the movie Condor’s Nest, a story about an American combat aviator who, a decade after Nazi Germany fell, travels to South America to seek out a war criminal and gets more than he bargains for. This movie has a fantastic list of cast members, including Arnold Vosloo, Michael Ironside, Jackson Rathbone, Jorge Garcia, Bruce Davidson, and James Urbaniak.
