Lời khuyên của Ashley Park dành cho bất kỳ ai đang gặp khó khăn

She’s known for giving direct advice free from sugarcoating as Mindy in Emily in Paris – and it seems like actress Ashley Park is similarly sage.

The 33-year-old, who returns as the aspiring singer for the fourth season of the hit Netflix show, has shared her foolproof guidance to motivate anyone struggling with a hard time. And all you need to do is take a cursory glance at your smartphone.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar for our What You Don’t Know About Me video series, Park reveals how her phone calendar can be a real help.

“I’ll look at the past month or the past year,” she explains. “[I think about] what the stakes were, or the things that felt biggest in my life at that point, and whether it feels that way now.

“That perspective [helps, because] whatever mountain or hurdle in front of me that feels impossible – because I’ve been able to get through those things in the past, I know I can do it now.”

Park adds she tries to have that frame of mind as often as possible, but admits: “In some instances, I could be better”.

The actress herself faced a significant setback ahead of the fourth season of Emily in Paris. While on holiday in Thailand with her boyfriend, fellow cast member Paul Forman (who plays her love interest, Nicolas de Leon, in the show), she contracted a case of tonsillitis that developed into critical septic shock. Her illness meant she returned to filming later than the rest of the cast – but, even then, she admits it was against her doctor’s advice.

“Filming was physically taxing in a way I hadn’t previously endured,” she acknowledges. “But I had to stop gaslighting myself and be like, I’m allowed to feel this way. I’ll do the best I can in these stilettos and this latex skirt, and I can be proud when I watch this season and know the amount of passion and hard work I put in just to be there.”
