Outer Banks season 4 shockingly killed JJ Maybank. Now that Rudy Pankow is out of the show, it seems like the Pogues’ replacement for the character is going to be Drew Starkey’s Rafe. While he has mostly been an enemy to John B and the rest of the crew for most of the show, Rafe did get the start of a redemption arc in Outer Banks season 4. I think that he could be a fitting replacement for JJ. While the character will never have the same dynamic with the Pogues that JJ had, Rafe is also unpredictable and reckless.
