‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Season 2 Welcomes Russian Doll Star to the Cast

“Welcome to the Concrete Jungle.”

The Walking Dead: Dead City season two has added Russian Doll and Orange is the New Black star Dascha Polanco to its cast.

Taking to social media to make the announcement, the official Twitter/X page for The Walking Dead shared an image of Dascha alongside three more actors who will be joining the cast for season season of the Maggie and Negan spinoff series.

“Welcome to the Concrete Jungle! Meet the newest cast members of #DeadCity,” the captioned read.

Also starring alongside Dascha as newcomers to season two are Animal Kingdom actor Jake Weary, It Follows star Keir Gilchrist and Terrifier star Pooya Mohseni.

Out of the newly announced cast members, it looks like only Mohseni has made an appearance in the brand-new teaser trailer which was released on Friday (July 26).

Back in May, it was announced that season two would be getting a release window of 2025 with filming already underway.

Season one of Dead City saw Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie team up to find Maggie’s son following his abduction.

The duo journeyed to New York City, venturing all the way to Manhattan where they encountered a terrifying turf war which saw one side release a six-armed zombie.

In July last year, when the series was renewed for a second season, AMC’s Dan McDermott said: “This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for Dead City and highly anticipated new journey for fan-favourite character Daryl Dixon coming in September.

“We can’t wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicentre of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan.”

Polanco is best known for her portrayal of Dayanara “Daya” Diaz on the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black. She also starred as Beatrice in Season one of Russian Doll.

The Walking Dead aired on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
