Even though Joanne and Noah’s romantic relationship is the main story in Nobody Wants This, their siblings Morgan and Sasha are a vital part of the Netflix romantic comedy series. Both Morgan and Sasha spend a great deal of time with their respective siblings, like how Morgan co-hosts the sex and dating podcast with Joanne. As Joanne and Noah’s initial attraction becomes more serious and develops into a full-fledged romantic relationship by the ending of Nobody Wants This, Morgan and Sasha cross paths and get to know each other.

Their interactions begin with Sasha bringing Joanne’s computer to Morgan when Joanne is out of town with Noah. From there, Morgan and Sasha begin talking and spending more time together, even though this time is not usually planned. Despite their nominal differences, Morgan and Sasha bond over being “the loser sibling” and become friends. However, there are teases that their relationship could go beyond the boundaries of friendship in Nobody Wants This season 2.

Do Morgan & Sasha Like Each Other In Nobody Wants This?

They Are Not On The Same Page About Their Relationship

Morgan looks to the side in Nobody Wants This

Among the characters in Nobody Wants This, Morgan and Sasha clearly enjoy each other’s company and eventually begin referring to each other as friends. However, during Miriam’s Bat Mitzvah, Morgan tries to suggest to Sasha that they may be more than friends, although Sasha does not appear to share this same sentiment. Despite her initially dismissive attitude toward him, Morgan develops romantic feelings for Sasha over the season, even having a sex dream about him. Meanwhile, Sasha is purely interested in remaining friends with her. In the past, Morgan hasn’t had many healthy relationships with men, especially in her dating life.

Morgan interprets Sasha’s kind and generous nature as being flirtatious, since she is not used to men treating her this way. However, this is how Sasha interacts with everyone. Sasha sincerely values Morgan’s friendship. He enjoys talking with and spending time with her. They share a unique bond as “the loser siblings” and appreciate the other’s sense of humor. From Sasha’s early scenes of wanting to constantly hang out with his rabbi brother Noah, it is made clear that Sasha is lonely and craves more social interaction. Morgan unexpectedly helps fill that void for Sasha, but only as a friend.

The Problem With Morgan & Sasha’s Secret Friendship In Nobody Wants This

Sasha Was Hiding It From Esther

Sasha and Morgan’s secret friendship is problematic because Sasha is concealing it from his wife, Esther. This violates the trust that Sasha and Esther are supposed to have as a husband and a wife, and may lead Esther to believe that he has been cheating on her. A married man can absolutely be friends with an unmarried woman, and vice versa. However, it becomes a problem if such a friendship is hidden from romantic partners, which suggests the relationship is more than a friendship.

Sasha is only hiding it from Esther because he knows she would not understand and would force him to end it. The loneliness Sasha feels, and the pressure he feels from Esther and her restrictive ways, points to deeper issues in their marriage that need to be solved. Instead of dealing with these marital problems though, Sasha focuses on his secret friendship with Morgan, and now that Esther knows about it, will be set on destroying it in a prospective Nobody Wants This season 2.

Morgan & Sasha Likely Wouldn’t Become A Couple In Nobody Wants This Season 2

It Would Upend Their Lives

While season 1 teases the possibility of romance between Morgan and Sasha, it is highly unlikely that they will become a couple in season 2. Sasha is not interested in Morgan in that way, and even if he was, it would mean him blowing up his marriage, his relationship with his daughter, Miriam, his parents, and with Noah and Joanne. While Sasha and Esther have their issues that they need to work through, Sasha still genuinely loves Esther. It doesn’t seem like he is going to destroy his marriage and his entire life for a chance with Morgan.

It’s unlikely Morgan nor Sasha will choose to alienate all their loved ones and destroy the lives they have built in Nobody Wants This .

Morgan does have feelings for Sasha, but she needs to recognize he does not feel the same way, and that it is better for them to just be friends. The Roklov family would have an even more difficult time with Morgan dating Sasha than Joanne’s romance with Noah, as Morgan is both non-Jewish and would have ended a Jewish marriage. Joanne would likely resent Morgan for making it impossible for her to ever be accepted. It’s unlikely Morgan nor Sasha will choose to alienate all their loved ones and destroy the lives they have built in Nobody Wants This.
