Hold on to your popcorn, because Netflix’s The Perfect Couple left viewers with more drama than we bargained for. The six-part series, based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel, had a killer (pun intended) final plot twist, and while the season wrapped with plenty of loose ends, there’s one relationship question fans like myself can’t stop wondering about: What happens to Amelia and Shooter?

So, what’s the deal? Do Amelia and Shooter ride off into the sunset together? Well, the series doesn’t spill those beans. But Ishaan Khatter, who plays Shooter, did weigh in on the subject telling Us Weekly, “I think it depends on the audience. If they want to [do a] season two, maybe Shooter and Amelia do end up together.”

Umm…excuse me, Netflix, I need season two yesterday.

Let me rewind a sec: The Perfect Couple is a murder mystery set during a lavish Nantucket wedding weekend. Nicole Kidman is perfection as Greer Garrison, the no-nonsense, ice queen mother of the groom. (Oh, and she’s also a bestselling author. Casual.) Enter her son, Benji (Billy Howle), who’s about to marry Amelia (Eve Hewson). Now, Amelia seems like an absolute gem—smart, sweet, a zookeeper (yep, you read that right)—but to Benji’s uber-rich family, she’s just not cutting it. Because, you know, zookeeping isn’t exactly the #richpeoplevibes they had in mind.

But the real tea blood gets spilled when the wedding comes to a screeching halt thanks to—you guessed it—a murder. As the investigation digs deeper, so does the drama, with Benji catching his bride-to-be locking lips with none other than his best friend, Shooter (Khatter). Cue the collective gasp.

Whether fans will get to see Amelia and Shooter’s romance play out on the small screen (or if one even exists) remains to be seen. But one thing for certain is that Khatter had nothing but great things to say about working with Hewson.

“Working with Eve has been one of the most fun parts of doing this show. She’s incredibly talented and…largely instinctive,” he told Us Weekly.

Want to dive into all the drama yourself? The Perfect Couple is now streaming on Netflix, and trust me—you’ll be obsessed from the first “I do” (or don’t).
