It may take a wizard to keep track of season 2’s episode drops.
Middle-earth is a terrifying place. As Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova) says in episode 4 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2, “There are nameless things in the deep places of this world.” That includes but certainly isn’t limited to: dark wizards, nearly two dozen powerful rings, and an evil trickster trying to con his way into ultimate power. As easy as it is for J.R.R. Tolkien’s heroes to go astray on their quest, fans of the fantasy series may also have some trouble following along with this season’s stuffed plot.
The Rings of Power season 2 begins just where the first season left off, after Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) revealed to our hero Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) that he’s the dark lord Sauron in disguise. Teaming up with Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and High King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker), Galadriel now sets out to stop Sauron before he can convince the Elven smith Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) to forge powerful rings that will bring about the end of the world. For fans of The Lord of the Rings, there’s much more story for the Prime Video series to tell. But for our other adventurers, including Isildur (Maxim Baldry), Durin (Owain Arthur), and the obvious “Stranger” (Daniel Weyman), untold danger awaits.
When Does the Next Episode of The Rings of Power Season 2 Premiere?
Prime Video dropped the first three episodes of season 2 on August 29 at 3:00 A.M. EST. That’s roughly three hours of story to get through—even if it was just the beginning of season 2’s larger narrative arc. As we approach the finale, the road for season 2’s strangest pairings is nearing its end. Celebrimbor is wising up to Sauron’s tricks, Galadriel is partnering up with Adar against a common enemy, and the Stranger is learning about powerful magic from Tom Bombadil. There are just two more episodes left, including the finale on October 3. For a detailed episode guide, check out the release dates below.
