PATRICK Mahomes is always looking for ways to give back to his alma mater.
A proud alumnus of Texas Tech, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his wife Brittany have recently made a huge donation to the Red Raiders.

Looking to assist in the funding of the $242 million South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project at Jones AT&T Stadium, also known as “the historic Campaign for Fearless Champions,” the Mahomes donated $5 million, as per the team.
This generous gift has helped the team reach $115 million in total funds raised.
In an effort to thank their former quarterback, the Red Raiders also announced that their new walkthrough area will be named after him.
What’s more, Texas Tech will also rename its quarterback meeting room as well as the offensive coordinator’s office in Patrick’s honor.
“When we first launched this campaign, Patrick was only a freshman and now it is fitting that we approach the end of the campaign with a gift of his own,” Kirby Hocutt, the school’s Director of Athletics stated.
“We couldn’t be prouder to announce this gift from Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
“We are so proud of Patrick for all he has accomplished and how he has continually supported Texas Tech on a global scale.”
Not only will Patrick’s name be plastered throughout the new project, but his logo will also be clear to see for all come game day.
After the team announced a 10-year deal with Adidas this summer, it was revealed that along with the sportswear giant’s logo and that of the Red Raiders, Patrick’s Gladiator logo would also be featured on their field.
This came as Patrick too has a sponsorship deal with the German giants.
Head coach Joey McGuire claimed that there is no “greater ambassador” for the school’s athletics department than Patrick.
“He is arguably the best brand in sports, not only for his success on the field but for what he and his family do off it,” he added.
“Since my hiring here at Texas Tech, it’s been evident to me just how much Patrick truly loves this university and football program, and this gift further emphasizes that.”
McGuire went on to thank the Mahomes’ for their impact on the student-athletes as well as the program’s future.
In his three years at Texas Tech, Patrick made 32 appearances in total, passing for 11,252 yards, 93 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions.
Patrick also had another 820 yards and 22 touchdowns rushing.
Once the project is complete, the stadium’s south end zone will feature a new 300,000-square-foot facility for the football team.
This will include new locker rooms, a larger weight room, and a huge walkthrough room, including turf and a screen which will fill a whole wall.
There will also be a large meeting room for the team, as well as new offices for staff, and a tunnel to the field allowing fans to cheer them on as they head out.
Executive suites and outdoor seating options overlooking the field are also planned, along with sideline tables for others.
