Welcome back to Middle-earth.
IF THE SECOND season of House of the Dragon left you with a taste for fantasy epic and wanting more, you’ve come to the right place and are living in the right timeline. Not even a month after HBO aired its House of the Dragon finale, fantasy fans have their next big feast as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power—Prime Video’s mega-high budget Lord of the Rings series—is back for its second go-around. The new season comes just about two years after its first season was a major spectacle, catching the attention of many new viewers and seemingly winning over many fans of Peter Jackson’s famed Academy Award-winning trilogy.
Things are picking up where they left off at the end of season 1, though with typical Lord of the Rings and fantasy fashion, there’s a lot going on: Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) has just discovered that Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) is actually the secret identity of the evil sorcerer Sauron, while we’re still wondering about the identity of The Stranger (Daniel Weyman). The story has made its way to The Southlands, Númenor, and Mordor, and that’s not even to mention the forbidden romance between Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova) and Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi).
Oh! And there’s the Mithril-fueled story of the dwarves, which also led to the rekindled friendship between Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and Durin IV (Owain Arthur), a story that at first was nice and eventually, by the end of the season, led to the forging of The Rings of Power. To quote Ron Howard’s narration in Arrested Development: Hey, that’s the name of the show!
There’s a whole lot to keep up with with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, but as you get deeper and deeper into the story being told, each episode becomes more and more important, and more and more exciting.
In order to make sure you don’t miss a single episode, we’ve got you covered with all the information you could possibly need just below.
